What's Wrong with Cartoons?

What’s Wrong with Cartoons?
By Jonathan Ian F. Bade

Do you know why you watch cartoons? Is it for fun? When I was a child. I usually watch Popeye, Tom and Jerry and Transformers. Of course I watched it because it was funny and it was the effects that amazed me. One thing I did not like in watching cartoons is that I did not learn anything. Do you know why your mom restricts you in watching cartoon? The reason is that you mom knows a lot in the effects of cartoons. You kids should obey you mom and refrain from watching cartoons.
Why do you watch cartoons? You watch cartons because it is very funny, entertaining and fantastic. Fantastic because for example, Popeye kept a can of spinach in his shirts, how could he do that? Can you keep a can in your shirt?

Do you know why your brothers or sisters and parents also watch cartoons? Have you asked them why? Probably they would say that they watch cartoons to accompany you. They may also say that cartons help them relax and help them have some fun.

Cartoons have several effects on kids like you and adults too. Some of these cartoons can affect your safety, addiction and mental ability. Some of them became your role model or fan. Addiction to cartoons can also be bad at you. You always watch cartoons and might forget to do your assignments and forget to study, this happen to me all the time. Dragon Ball Z is, again, our example. Cartoons like this have a story, which forces you to watch the next episode tomorrow until the story ends. Cartoons affect safety in a way. Popeye and Tom and Jerry are our example cartoons. What do they always do in these cartoons? Popeye always beat Bluto and Tom and Jerry always chase each other around the house fighting at each other. Dragon Ball Z is another example of violence, defending the Earth but by fighting bad guys. Cartons affect a lot in your mental ability. If you watch cartoons two to four hours a day, stay away from it. This will cause you brain to be stacked. All the things that is in your mind is cartoons. You can’t think well anymore in class. For example, your teacher is discussing the go, grow and glow foods. Suddenly your teacher gives spinach as an example on glow foods. For sure you will have the reaction that Popeye eats spinach then you discus it with your classmate and talk about Popeye the whole time. What did you learn in Science? Nothing!

Who is your favorite cartoon character? Cartoon characters can be your role models. Snow white can be your role model for being simple, kind and beautiful. But this role modeling can be at you. For example, your role model is Mojojojo from the Power Puff Girls. He always destroys Townsville and does injury to people. Another one is Billy from Grim and Evil. Billy always does not do anything right. He always looks dull. Having a favorite cartoon character is not that bad, just do not imitate them because if you imitate them it could affect your safety and mental ability.

Watching cartoons is not safe for kids like you, although it cartoons is made for you. Cartoons you view on T.V. can affect you safety and mental ability. Idolizing or having a favorite carton character is not that bad for you, just don’t idolize them completely. I suggest that you watch cartoons that are movie rather than cartoons you see on televisions. Why? If you compare Tom and Jerry the movie to Tom and Jerry in T.V., the Tom and Jerry the movie have a moral value than in series which all they d is fight. Watching cartons may affect you a lot. Avoid excessive watching of cartoons.
